Brian Avery (born July 13, 1940) is an American actor and producer who has worked frequently on film and television. He appeared on the TV Show Gomer Pyle USMC as PFC Brian Jones in the October 13, 1967 episode entitled "The Great Talent Hunt". Brian Avery played the role of a fellow private who ends up being the vocal teacher who helps Gomer Pyle Jim Nabors win the contest and go to Washington D.C. to represent the United States Marine Corps as a Singer. Avery also appeared in the Dragnet episode, "The Subscription Racket," originally broadcast on April 20, 1967, in which Avery played a magazine salesman who solicited subscriptions by falsely claiming to be a Medal of Honor winner.〔http://web.archive.org/web/20110707204730/http://www.badge714.com/episodes.htm/〕 As an actor, he is known for playing Carl Smith, who attempts to marry Elaine Robinson (Katharine Ross) in the 1967 film ''The Graduate''.
